My rediscovering this was more Wikipedia fallout, by the way—a guy at the Reference Desk page was asking why he kept seeing blue and orange colors when he looked at certain electric fans under fluorescent light, and I suspect he's actually seeing Fechner colors. Unless he is just on acid.
